Lori Gilder, of Lori Gilder Interior Makeovers, created a luxury hideaway for MrSteam’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing and her wife – integrating all the bells and whistles in a fabulous bath renovation.
Lori Gilder, of Lori Gilder Interior Makeovers, had the kind of design brief some designers only dream off: to modernize an existing master bath with a gut renovation that included steam, aromatherapy, chromatherapy and music therapy to create a sanctuary space where her hardworking clients could relax daily, restoring their sense of balance and harmony. The fact that one of her clients was Martha Orellana, MrSteam’s VP of Sales and Marketing, just added to the thrill of the project. After all, who knows more about spa therapy than Mrs.Steam herself?
Gilder put the master bath together almost as if it consisted of interlocking puzzle pieces, with each element flowing into the next. The shower enclosure is the room’s focal point, which melds seamlessly into a 32”x60” marble soaking tub, which in turn serves as a seat for the steam shower. The white marble vanity countertop is decorated by a waterfall detail, and the vanity is constructed from rift-sawn oak with a gray stain. A rectangular mirror is flanked by two narrow counter-toceiling medicine cabinets, echoing the geometric confluence of the glass and marble intersections.
The master bath includes the sleek and sexy iSteam central command center, which controls the various elements of spa therapy: aromatherapy infusing essential oils into the steam, the mood-enhancing lighting of ChromaSteam, and Music Therapy supplied via AudioStream. Heated towel warmers add the finishing touch in both the master and guest bathrooms.
“Not only were Martha and Susan thrilled by the outcome of the renovation,” says Gilder, “but their trust in our process, professionalism, and design aesthetic made it an once-in-a-lifetime experience for us as well!”
